Submissions

We are always open to pitches for book reviews related to gaming, theories of play, and other playful aspects of pop culture like fandom and cosplay. Many, but not all, of the books we review are published by university presses; the best way to get a handle on what we review is to scroll down the home page and check out the “Reviews” section.

We are also happy to consider short (500 words or less) impressions pieces that highlight indie games and developers. If you have something quick to say about a favorite itch.io gem or another game that doesn’t deserve to be flying under the radar, send it our way.

We are not currently accepting submissions for longform features, but when we are, we will update both this page and our social media pages on Twitter and Bluesky.

Submissions may be sent to editorial@gamerswithglasses.com. We are a volunteer-run collective, so please give us a couple weeks before sending a follow up. We are not currently able to offer compensation, but we can often get codes for indies, so if you have an impressions piece that you’re interested in pitching, let us know first and we’ll see if we can get a copy for you.
